Very event-ful

Myself and many of my caching buddies are members of a Facebook group called West Mids Geocaching where we have debates and arrange group caching sessions. The group recently hit 250 members and so the Admin of the group Tim created an event for all as promised.

The event was to start at 2pm so in true caching style we arranged to meet up with some buddies to do a bit of caching beforehand. We met up around midday at the carpark for Willenhall FC and then went for a walk around Fibbesley Park nature reserve.

Mrs SC just loves caching!

Mrs. Dibboid deep in thought!

There was [Monki], SOAPY chickens, Dibboid, mrs dibboid & -Ako- along with all our family seeking out 3 caches there by The Hopton Duo:

The Greyhound    The Navi    &  Blue Fly

All caches were easy finds once we had taken correct paths to them

Myself and Ash searching for a temporary muggled cache grrr!

After we had finished them we crossed back over the road and entered Willenhall Memorial Park as there were 3 caches in here to take a look at and of course there was a treat for the kids of the swings and slides.
We all thought this park was fantastic as it had a bit of everything... Gardens, skate park, play area and of course hidden tupperware

-Ako- and the lovely Cuthies

We also bumped into caching friends The Cuthies & Max in the park while doing a Humpshire Hunt cache and then later whilst doing 2 Black Country Rabbit caches. Whilst looking for one of these caches Ash ([Monki]) and myself were confused as to why we couldn't find a cache especially as Mr. C was standing over us saying that I must've knocked it.....Anyway it turned out that Junior SC and Dave (Dibboid) had muggled the cache and found it highly amusing watching us carrying on with search.

Mr SC with his "Hurry up & take photo" face on

Playtime yay!

We allowed the kids to have a 20 minute play on the slides etc and then made our way back to the cars and on to the event...

West Mids Geocaching 250 Members and growing Event

So as promised Tim put on an event for the facebook group reaching 250 members. The event was at the Robin hood pub in Willenhall, it was quite small inside but perfect to house us for a couple of hours.
The owners were very welcoming and even put a small buffet on for us all....I think Ash and myself ate most of it.

It was fantastic to catch up with lots of friends and have lots of banter and fooling around of course. There was even a published cache done specifically for the event which of course upset some people who didn't / couldn't attend. The coords were hidden at bottom of a pint glass and after quite a while it was Paul SC who found them. It was quite funny then as everyone slowly started taking an interest in his activity.

Mass FTF fun!

The cache itself was fab with lots of decoys keeping us all entertained.
Afterwards a few of us went and did a few more local caches mainly owned by Tim (BlueWKD) which were all good fun.
We then returned back to the event for another drink and a bit more Geochat and silly goings on!

Mrs BCC and G6LPB.

There was quite a good turnout at the event but was a shame more couldn't make it, still most of my regular caching buddies were there so good times. It was also good to chat to a couple of other cachers who I hadn't previously met. A fab day out thanks Tim.

Total smilies bagged = 13
